Story

My vision of people with a handicap has been determined by growing up having an uncle with Down Syndrome. This led me to think of this as "normal", only to find out later on that the way people with handicaps are often stigmatized in the general public's eye. For that reason i tried to portray kids with Down Syndrome as essentially kids, who incidentally had a little something different.

All those children are photographed in "main stream" situation, in "regular" class, or dance classes, or any type of leasure activity. I willingly stayed away from institutions designed especially to handle their specificity.
