Story

While we often see images of contemporary factories, with their sleek equipments and germ free environments, what of the heavy duty factories, with trucks and dust, and feet in the dirt.

These images were made during a long commission i was given to portray workers in 10 different factories across France. I was struck by the visual beauty of an equipment that felt from another time, of a size uncommon to what we encounter in daily life. My approach was less documentary that purely visual. I was happy that the client was intelligent enough to use those images primarily, even though they were not what they had asked for.
